CloudQuery premium versus free table breakdown timeline inquiry

When will there be a breakdown of the specific tables that will be premium vs free?

Hey ,

I think it should be out today/tomorrow. I know/assume you are still using CloudQuery internally under the hood. As mentioned in the blog, for paying customers, we honor the quote for a year and for others deep in PoC or in production, we are flexible with prolonged trials.

Of course, you can also keep and maintain a fork (as the code is available), which is totally fair, but for the CloudQuery maintained version, it will have to be paid. I’m happy to work with you all to come up with something that makes sense for your use case.

I can open a Slack Connect channel (if you are on Slack) to loop in our engineers. Let me know if yes, and I’ll send an invite?

So, is the $10 per million rows after the 100M in the free quota? Does this mean you begin charging at the 100,000,001st row?

I switched jobs - more just curious for my own personal usage.

@active-mustang Gotcha, so yeah we will publish it shortly.

@neat-kingfish Yes, that’s correct. What we usually do for higher volume clients is that we enable a trial so we can see average usage and then we can do a yearly quote. This way, there is fluctuation in bills, and even if there is a spike, you are not affected and can continue using it.

On the pricing, we just rolled it out, so it might have some small adjustments in the upcoming weeks as we need to see more data in case we mispriced it and it’s too high/low.
