Hi everybody - just discovered CloudQuery exists and have a question - I’m assuming “premium” sources mean only paid versions can use them, even if self-hosting? My use case is strictly looking for MySQL transfers at scale.
As a side note, on the integration hub page it would be nice if hovering over the premium/open core/etc badges gave you a pop-up definition of what that meant.
And the definition of a row - is it a monthly active record like Fivetran bills or event-based, i.e., are each insert, update, and delete considered a billed row?
Josh here - I lead User Success for CQ. Great to see you here! If you’d like to walk through our pricing structure at any point, feel free to book some time with me and our Founder here: Calendly Meeting.
Typically, we offer a trial period so you can understand usage, and we can provide a quote if you’re interested.
Yeah, also rows don’t map directly to inserts/updates/deletes. To give an example, if a source plugin calls an API that returns 1000 items, that counts as 1000 rows. The destination plugin decides if to do an insert or update (not all destinations support updates). We don’t bill for deletes.
That being said, we don’t want our pricing to be prohibitive for any user, and we are in the process of making some adjustments. Your feedback here would be valuable for us. May I suggest booking some time with the link I provided above? We can make sure that the cost isn’t a blocker for you to leverage CQ.
