CloudQuery policy execution options after syncing to CSV files

Hi everyone. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I am just starting with CloudQuery this morning. I am able to sync an Azure source to a local file destination in CSV. My question is, now what do I do? Can I run the policies against the file output, or is Postgres required for policy execution?

Hey! Yeah, for policies, PostgreSQL is required (which you can run locally with Docker). Regarding what you do - I’ll throw it back to you :slightly_smiling_face: What do you want to achieve?

Thanks for that. I am trying to use cq as a CSPM for auditing new environments. I love using Prowler for AWS, but their Azure rules are lacking.

Thank you for the tip that Postgres is required. That is what I was picking up from the docs, but I wanted to make sure.

Gotcha, so yeah, then Postgres. I will be happy to hear if you have feedback for our Azure policies.

Will do. Definitely excited to dig in. Ran into the same lack of meaningful rules with CloudSploit and ScoutSuite as well. So really hoping this works. I hate that MS tried to consume all of the Azure scanning tools. It feels like the fox watching the hen house, and MS doesn’t have the best track record there :slightly_smiling_face:
